Grieving During the Holidays

The holidays after the loss of a loved one can be an especially difficult time of year. Traditions and celebrations assume new meaning after a death, and those in mourning may be asking themselves if they want to celebrate or if they should even try to pretend like nothing has changed. Sadness from a loss years ago may also become fresh and painful again during the holidays.

On November 17 at 1pm at the Marshall Public Library, Roberta Wold and Dona Robinson, Licensed Social Workers, will address how to cope with grief during the holidays and special occasions. They will discuss the importance of communication, how to involve family members in the process of healing, and starting new traditions after the death of a loved one.

For more information on this program, please call Roberta Wold or Dona Robinson at Alliance Hospice at 478-6677 or Amy at 232-1263 ext. 21.
