Thirty Years of Reading Freedom

Free people read freely, and this year marks the thirtieth anniversary of libraries
celebrating this freedom.

Banned Books Week is September 30-October 6. Marshall Public Library will display a selection of banned books throughout September. Be sure to visit this display on the second floor to see what books have been banned or challenged (the titles may surprise you!) and to write a message about what our freedom to read means to you.

Celebrate your right to choose what to read and what to think by joining Marshall Public Library’s new book group that reads exclusively banned or challenged books. The group will meet at 7pm on the second Tuesday of each month starting on October 9. Our first book will be The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Pick up your copy at the Reference Desk on the second floor.

If you have any questions about the banned books book group, contact Amy at 232-1263 ext. 21.
